Reflections and Insights of Working in Social Media
Working in social media is a relatively young sector which has rapidly developed as the technology, users, and requirements have evolved. The online world is complex, unregulated and provides anonymous havens to that intent on having a voice, no matter what the consequences. Employees in this sector have felt the burnt of those challenges, which have intensified during the covid-19 pandemic, as toxicity, frustrations, and anger, spill out into the only channel available. RiskEye surveyed social media employees to assess what it feels like to work in the profession, how this has changed during the pandemic, and what might make their lives better in the future.
